Restaurant of Champions
This event will see chef teams from top restaurants and hotels compete to see who is best. Four temporary restaurants will be built on the show floor.
Watch the action as teams prepare and serve a meal for around 80 patrons right in front of you. This event is presented by the Australian Culinary Federation (QLD) with the support of Fonterra. Best of the Best Pizza Challenge
The Best of the Best Pizza Challenge is now in its 14th year. Open to all independent establishments showcasing pizza on their menu. Categories for 2010 within both the Traditional and Gourmet competitions are Cheese Pizza and Smallgoods Pizza with the last category being a mystery black box on the day of the State Final. Head Judge Gary Farrell will again be leading the judging panel throughout 2010 with Mike Gardiner from ABC radio again joining the team to MC the State and National finals.
Five QLD State Finalists will compete in the Traditional Competition on Monday 22nd March with another Five QLD State Finalists competing in the Gourmet Category on Tuesday 23rd March. Only one person from each category will be announced QLD State Champion for the Traditional and Gourmet categories accordingly and will progress to the National Final, to be held at Fine Food Australia in Melbourne this September.
Best of the Best Pasta Challenge
New to Fine Food, The Best of the Best Pasta Challenge is open for entries for the very first time in 2010. Dairy Farmers invites all those artisan pasta makers out there to enter the first National pasta competition and to earn the right to be crowned the inaugural Best of the Best Pasta Champion in Australia. Entries are restricted to one pasta dish per competitor made from fresh, handmade pasta and matched with a sauce comprising of at least four ingredients from a list of sponsors products. Once again, the QLD State Final will be held at Fine Food Brisbane on Sunday 21st March with 5 competitors being chosen as State Finalists and only one being chosen to represent their State at the National Final in September.
